This week many of our readers wrote to us about the selection of Mr Walz as Ms Harris’s running-mate. Markus Imhof worried that Ms Harris was making the “same mistake” as Mr Trump by choosing someone who is “not really expanding” her appeal to voters. But Frank Morgret enjoyed Mr Walz’s talent for “brilliant one-liners”, which he observed is shared by many Midwestern gentlemen. “None too soon,” Mr Morgret said, “US presidential elections are interesting again.”
