Doesn’t it feel like the pace of life has speeded up? Whether it really has or not, the sense that we have less time is probably not conducive to wellbeing. An influential study from 2009 found that people who felt unhurried were happier, regardless of their material wealth. Such findings could help explain the rising popularity of slow initiatives, from slow food to slow travel. Maybe you too have felt a desire to step off the treadmill and, go slow.

And that’s the theme of this week’s content on Psyche, including a mix of new treats and gems from the archive – our second themed week since our relaunch in May showcasing the best of our content channels. Highlights include a Story of Change on the lost art of making a petroglyph, a Note to Self on a year spent reading War and Peace, a hilarious Video on pencil sharpening and a practical Guide on how to slow down time (or speed it up).

I hope you can find a quiet moment to take a breath, dive in and enjoy all these items and more on Psyche.
