While millions were likely focused on the festivities, with cookout or arduous travel prep well underway, many of us had our eyes mostly on (surprise) Nvidia, and the implications of the chipmaker’s latest blockbuster earnings report earlier this week. What do Wall Street’s hottest stock and retired NFL & MLB All-Star Bo Jackson have in common? A little more than you might think.

Bo is the only professional athlete in history to be named an All-Star in two major North American sports. He could play both. Nvidia is the same.

Indeed, the company’s latest results, for which expectations were understandably sky-high, delivered the rarest of things: both outlandish sales growth and profit margins. Revenue was up 122% in the last year, and the company notched an impressive 55% profit margin over the last 4 quarters too. 

Those stats, like Jackson’s pedigree as a running back for the LA Raiders as well as a star slogger for the Kansas City Royals, put the AI chip giant in a completely different league to its S&P 500 peers, especially on our custom-made Bo Jackson Index…
