Big news! I've got a new book coming out on October 8th. Most of my novels are high-concept near-future thrillers, and while Ensorcelled does have speculative elements, at its heart, it's a simple tale about a boy who goes on a camping trip that opens his mind to new ways of seeing. This kind of smaller, gentler, more intimate storytelling required me to stretch new muscles as a writer, and it's been really special to hear from early readers who have found it to be a source of solace. At just 90 pages, Ensorcelled is a single-sitting read. For years, I've harbored an unreasonable affection for novellas and short novels—e.g. Foster, Piranesi, Train Dreams, and This Is How You Lose the Time War—so it's been tremendous fun to finally write my own and work with an incredibly talented designer, Peter Nowell, to produce a tiny but beautiful paperback that will slip into your pocket as easily as you slip into the narrative. If you read this newsletter, then I strongly suspect you will love Ensorcelled, and if you preorder it directly from me, I will personally sign and send you a copy a week before it comes out on October 8th so you get to read it before anyone else. I poured my heart into this story and can’t wait to hear what you think. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to the studio to record the audiobook… Best, Eliot Eliot Peper is the author of Ensorcelled, Foundry, Reap3r, Veil, Breach, Borderless, Bandwidth, Neon Fever Dream, Cumulus, Exit Strategy, Power Play, and Version 1.0. He also works on special projects. |
