Hi, everyone! I am here to be your guide and shepherd for all things SFF while my colleague Sam is busy creating a new human. At Audible right now, we are already thinking about what the best listens of the year might be, so I feel like I have science fiction and fantasy coming out of my ears right now...as it goes into my ears. 😅 You already know what we deemed best of the year so far back in June, but there have been so many more good releases since then—and more still on the horizon. In this edition, I've queued up our most-anticipated releases for this fall, an explainer on an author you shouldn't be missing out on, as well as a list of audiobooks that revel in the wonders of other lifeforms.

We're intensely curious and excited to listen to James Islington's followup to The Will of the Many and the disorienting promise of There Is No Antimemetics Division. We'll also be tapping into those pumpkin spice latte vibes with cozy or etherial fantasies like Brigands & Breadknives and Alchemy of Secrets.

According to some scientists, the probability is quite high that alien lifeforms exist. (The matter of being able to reach each other across the vast universe is another story altogether.) These first-contact audiobooks take on a new light when you think about the real possibility of extraterrestrials.
