September is my birthday month, and as any good Virgo knows, this is the time of year to celebrate our love of organization, preparation, and self-enrichment. Even if you don’t have kids in your life, September babies thrive in that back-to-school vibe that fills the soon-to-be-autumn air. This is also the season of Big Fall Books, with major new releases from our favorite writers. My literal and figurative notebooks are fresh, pencils are sharpened, and my mind and heart are ready to level-up, get smarter, and listen more.

Performed by a remarkable cast—with an original score by Grammy-nominated composer Morgan Kibby—this retelling of Jane Austen’s beloved Pride and Prejudice is fresh and wonderfully familiar at the same time. Spending time with Elizabeth Bennet and the unforgettable characters who surround her has made me want to stay in this world a little bit longer, and our guide to the Bennet family tree is exactly the kind of literary extra credit I was looking for.

Rhys Bowen’s Royal Spyness series was one of my first audio obsessions—and Mrs. Endicott’s Splendid Adventure shares much of the same meant-to-be listened-to ambiance. Bowen masterfully balances cozy charm with weightier themes of reinvention, female solidarity, and wartime struggle. Narrator Barrie Kreinik’s performance is a delight; she nails every character (British and French) perfectly. This breezy, heartwarming listen proves it's never too late for adventure, romance, or discovering your inner strength.

“We are honored to present titles written by Latino and Hispanic authors—some in English, some in Spanish—that explore the rich variety of traditions, perspectives, and experiences in the US and across Latin America. Our diversity is our strength, and Audible is proud to amplify the rich cultural narratives during Latino and Hispanic Heritage Month—and all year long.”
