President Donald Trump has been promising to lower prescription drug prices for years. In May, he signed an executive order telling pharma to get on board or else. The “or else” hasn’t come yet, but one Big Pharma company did just get on board with Trump’s vision. Pfizer says it will change the way it charges Medicaid patients for drugs and also that it would support Trump's new direct-to-consumer drug sale platform, TrumpRx.

On the Today, Explained podcast, host Sean Rameswaram walks us through why these moves won’t make much of an impact…and what actually could be done to lower the cost of prescription drugs.
