The most wonderful time of the year

We did it! Working on the Best of the Year list is, hands-down, my favorite thing to do as an editor. After a year of full-time listening, debating with my fellow editors, and listening some more, we’ve got our Audiobook of the Year (hint: “Navigator!”), our Top 20, and the best listens of 2025 by genre (including Fiction). I invite you to explore all our picks, and I hope you love this list as much as I do.

Vikas Adam: the voice we love and trust
I could listen to Vikas Adam talk endlessly, and I have—through multiple audiobooks. There are few people on this planet who love audio storytelling more than him. Not only is he a brilliant performer, his appreciation for and knowledge of the craft of narration and audio production is unsurpassed. Who better to talk to about all things Audible? Listen in as he chats with editors Katie and Kat, and be sure to add one of his inspired performances to your library.

Stories that transcend the gender binary
This newsletter is being shared on November 20, which is Transgender Day of Remembrance. It’s a solemn day for me and my family, especially since the passing of my nephew. The souls we honor were lost for all the wrong reasons, but they are not forgotten. Today also marks the end of Transgender Awareness Week, and what better way to increase awareness than by listening? The stories in this collection are for everyone—giving representation to those who are too often shunned from society and offering everyone the chance to build empathy and understanding through amazing storytelling.
