Happy Thanksgiving, all! This week we have a delectable treat for you to solve while you wait to see if THIS is the year they put a giant inflatable crossword in the Macy's parade -- a variety cryptic from Neville Fogarty!

This Thanksgiving, Neville is thankful for all of the great people he gets to work with. From crossword collaborators (especially those at AVCX) to colleagues in the math department where he teaches, he's grateful for the camaraderie that has gotten him through this year.

Please note that this is a barred cryptic, which means that it is not compatible with the .puz format. If you are not able to print the PDF (our preferred method, of course), and do not have an app that can open a .jpz file, you can open the file in a browser by following the instructions at Crossword Nexus or access the puzzle (with a login) at crosswordr.com.

We at AVCX are also thankful -- namely for the fact that we get to produce puzzles we love for folks who appreciate them. To show our gratitude, we have a fun perk! Until the end of the year, if you purchase a subscription to AVCX for yourself or as a gift for someone else, we'll send you a free mini meta pack, a set of puzzles that together reveal a hidden solution. After subscribing, just send a blank email to freeminis@avxwords.com with the subject line "mini meta," and the puzzles -- as well as a chance to win Natan Last's new book, "Across the Universe: The Past, Present, and Future of the Crossword Puzzle" -- will be yours.

Subscription options can be found here. At checkout, you'll have the choice to send the subscription to someone else as a gift, including the date they receive it.

See you all in two weeks with a classic-style cryptic from one of our faves, Brendan Emmett Quigley. Be well --

-- Francis (and the AVCX Cryptic crew)
