A bit of excellent news for the anti-productivity productivity crowd amongst us. Just in time for the holidays we made our first ever physical product: The Deadline Candle.
It has always seemed to me that productivity discourse tends to have a desiccated vision of ambition. So much of productivity is fueled by negative emotions. You’re afraid of falling behind, so you attempt to build elaborate systems and workflows to fix yourself. There’s no joy in it. No soul. The Deadline Candle was inspired by this note:
Creativity dies with too much structure. But it also dies without deadlines. A deadline prevents you from trying to make something perfect, so you have to make it different. Different is better. Enjoy ;)
