Friday 2 January 2026

As the year comes to a close, it’s a chance for many of us to slow down and reflect. In that tradition, we’re pressing pause on the publication of new content here at Psyche and sharing some article and video highlights from our archive that touch on themes of home, the pleasures of learning, the joys of food and drink – and rest! We also find out if the Santa myth is entirely harmless and whether darkness can affect your mind and mood.

Once the holidays are over, there is much more to look forward to at Psyche. All of our new written content is now available in audio form (on-site and via Apple and Spotify), perfect for those of you who might want your dose of Psyche while commuting or completing chores. January will also see the expansion of our Life Stories channel as we launch our new Portraits series – deeply personal and intimate reflections on remarkable lives.

From all of us here at Psyche, a very happy new year!
