Welcome to The Logoff: Hi readers, today we are logging off. 

I recognize that probably feels odd: After all, the news has been moving at about a million miles an hour almost since day one of 2026. (You can blame that one on me: On January 2, I wrote that the news was “playing nice,” which clearly offended the news gods. My bad.) 

But while our three big stories (Venezuela, Greenland, and the ICE presence in Minneapolis) are churning right along, there’s nothing new you need to know about right now. 

We’re taking Monday off for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, but we’ll see you right back here on Tuesday.
