Hello again, and welcome back to Five Things Tech!
Again, what a week in tech! There is so much stuff going on and the proposed TikTok ban in the USA is surely one of the biggest issues right now. What would all those people do if they cannot watch endless reels anymore? Would we see a boost in productivity or will they just go to other platforms instead?
Also, I’m deeply annoyed by Mark Zuckerberg now trying to be all macho man. He used to be such a nice guy, at least when I met him, which was a long time ago. He was on a trip to Berlin and facebook was just getting started in Germany, so probably around 2006 or so. There was a small gathering with like 15 people or so in a hotel in Berlin and I briefly talked to him about whatever, and he was very nice and looked endlessly tired, hopefully not because of my smalltalk. Anyhow, the way he schmoozes up to Trump and turns his platforms into places where facts don’t matter anymore as long as you have the masses of people to back up whatever crazy viewpoint is out there, really makes me sick. Also, now he wants Trump’s help to push back against EU regulation. The next four years will be really exhausting.
