Book Notification Newsletter: April 2025 Recap
Hi everyone, welcome to the April 2025 Recap! Read this newsletter online - click here. We’re sending this out a little early this month as we have a new feature launching in the weekly new books alert newsletter, and we wanted to give you a heads-up.
First, a big thank you from everyone at Book Notification to everyone who has joined the Page Turners Club. Your support and trust mean the world to us. Seeing so many people sign up to support us or donate directly to the site has been incredible. Thank You.
If you’re not a member yet and want to support us plus enjoy an ad-free experience, visit this page for more information.
The best book I’ve read this month is A Calamity of Souls by David Baldacci. It’s a fantastic book, and we’re making it the first giveaway for Page Turners Club members. We’re giving away three copies of the book, and all it takes is being a member of the Page Turners Club.
As mentioned, one big update this month is to the weekly new books alert newsletter, which we send out every Tuesday. This marks the first phase of upgrades to the newsletter, with more planned.
Two big features we plan to implement in the Tuesday newsletter over the next few months are an icon displaying any new additions since the prior newsletter and displaying book tags, such as tagging a book ‘Pre-Ordered’ to remind yourself you’ve already bought it.
On that note, we are working on a complete instructional guide for Book Notification because the site has so many features, and we want to make you aware of all the features we offer and clearly explain how it all works.
We’ve started this with the How To Tag Books guide, which is a great way to personally identify a group of books.
We’re excited to welcome Care, our new Social Media Manager, to the Book Notification team. She’ll be leading the charge on our social platforms with some fantastic ideas, and you’ll be seeing a lot of her around. If you aren’t already, be sure to follow us on our social media pages, which are linked below.
Until the next chapter,
Graeme

Site Improvements & Updates
Change E-mail Address: If you need to change your e-mail address, you no longer have to send us an e-mail: you can now do this within My Settings. The option is at the bottom and is a very straightforward process.
Change Password: Previously, to change your password, you had to log out and then choose “Forgot Password”. We’ve added the ability to change your password now via My Settings, while being logged in.
Apple Login: Per request, we have now added the ability to link your Apple login with your account if you prefer using Apple to log in. This is available at the bottom of My Settings.
Tuesday Newsletter Update: This update was prioritized primarily due to the book The Frozen People by Elly Griffiths, but is related to other books as well. At this time, we list a book by its original release date, although we’re planning to support location-specific release dates in the future. While most of our audience is primarily based in North America, we serve a global readership and aim to support users from every country.
The Frozen People caused a lot of confusion, because our e-mails were alerting people that it was releasing on February 13th, 2025, but when they went to pre-order it, it was giving a July 8th, 2025 release date. The reason for that is the official release of the book was in February in the United Kingdom. However, the release date in North America is July 8th, 2025.
We aren’t yet the stage where we can implement geographic release dates, so the Tuesday e-mail has been upgraded with an As you follow… section. This allows us to enter specific notes related to authors, as you can see in this example:

If you notice the release date of a book we have is different than the one you are seeing, don’t hesitate to let us know.
New Content Added
In addition to adding authors, we post a lot of book news and book-related content to Book Notification each month. Here are the highlights since the last newsletter:
Monthly Contest
Last month, we held a contest where each comment you made on an author’s page earned you one entry into the prize draw for 1 of 10 $25 USD Gift Cards. Thank you to everyone who entered.
Here are the winners this month:
- Amy (email begins with amycinn)
- Arch (email art04)
- DianaB
- DSpaceNine
- Jim D (email jbdj)
- Ms T
- Pam B.
- stalsma (x2)
- waterburg72
Quality content and discussion are always beneficial for our website. This month, we are running the same contest – asking you to write a comment on an author’s page. It can be whatever you want. You can write about how they are your favourite author, what their best book or series is, or about an adaptation of their book. Any and all comments are welcome.
We will give away ten $25 USD gift cards to random people who have submitted a comment from the day this newsletter was published, up until the beginning of the next newsletter. Each comment earns you an entry (or ‘ticket’) into the draw, and you can enter and win multiple times so comment as much as you want!
Members of the Page Turners Club will get an additional entry into the contest for every comment they post.
The comment form is at the bottom of every author’s page, under the title “Author Discussion”.
Thanks to everyone for your support. It’s genuinely appreciated.
