Tech Across the Globe

Musk’s AI glitch: Elon Musk’s AI chatbot Grok began citing controversial theories about “white genocide” in South Africa after “unauthorized modification” to its technology, parent company xAI said in a social media post late last week.

Amazon’s drone glitch: Five months after a December crash involving two Amazon delivery drones, a more detailed explanation of what happened is starting to emerge. Faulty readings from lidar sensors made the drones think they had landed, prompting the software to shut down the propellers.

CATL’s glitch-free debut: The world’s biggest EV battery maker, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co.,  is set to start trading in Hong Kong on Tuesday after raising $4.6 billion in its secondary listing. The stock was sold at HK$263 apiece — the maximum price the shares were marketed at — and the size of the sale was increased 15% to meet demand.
