What truly matters? And how should we think about it?
I think about those two questions a lot in my day-to-day work here at Vox. As executive editor, I’m in charge of our political coverage, and among the biggest challenges we face is choosing where to point our resources on any given day. We live in a time when information is more readily available than ever, and we’re constantly bombarded by stimuli competing for our attention. And so it’s useful to ask every morning: What truly matters? And, having figured that out, how should we think about it?
As the frenetic DOGE days of the early Trump term have given way to the more predictable rhythms of the last few weeks, we haven’t been spared the daily onslaught. Push alerts continue to ping; inboxes overflow. That’s why at Vox, we concentrate on our mission. We’re committed to wading into the torrent and distilling the most consequential and the most meaningful stories. We remain focused on what actually matters because we want to bring you clarity.
