I loved this touching story from the Washington Post about how more than three years of war in Ukraine has transformed the country’s relationship to its pets. Dogs have been adopted by soldiers on the frontlines, rescued from shelled-out towns by volunteers, and are now widely accepted in “most restaurants, cafes, beauty salons, grocery stores, and hotels in major Ukrainian cities. They’re often greeted with water bowls and treats or, in some cases, their own menus.”
