![]() Thank you for subscribing to receive my monthly newsletter. I realize how full our inboxes are these days, and I’m grateful you’ve opted to hear from me directly. If you didn’t check out the full archives prior to joining Curious about Everything, you can find them out here. A bit about the newsletter: Curious about Everything is a monthly compendium of the best longform pieces I read in the prior month, as well as a “quick links” section of shorter, interesting articles. The introduction to each month’s newsletter highlights any personal updates I may have to share, but the bulk of the email is links links links. A bit about me: I used to be a food and travel writer, and before that, a lawyer. I quit my law job in 2008 for what I thought would be a one year sabbatical to see the world, but it accidentally (wonderfully!) turned into a new career. I traveled and ate for a decade, sharing longform travel and food writing on my site Legal Nomads. In the process, I built a business I loved centred around food and community. You can read more about it on the Legal Nomads about page, here. Unfortunately, in 2017, a medical procedure left me disabled and mostly bed-bound, derailing my life. Unable to work or travel as I used to, I’ve left Legal Nomads mostly on hiatus. Instead, in addition to this newsletter, I have a Patreon membership site, where I answer people’s questions about spinal CSF leak, grief, chronic pain, and more. As of 2023, I also moved some of the pieces from Legal Nomads that trace my journey with chronic illness to a new personal site. Throughout, I’m grateful to have a community of people who want to read what I write, and who share a curiosity about the world. This newsletter embodies what life couldn’t take away, even as it changed so drastically: my love of reading, and my desire to learn as much as I can each day. I hope you enjoy it! You’ll see CAE in your inbox once per month. -Jodi A brief note about spam folders: If you can’t find the CAE newsletter in your inbox, please check your spam folder and mark this address as ‘not spam.’ If the newsletter isn’t in your spam folder, check the Promotions tab as it sometimes gets shunted there. |
