We've been quiet for awhile, and took a year off last year, but...
Austin's own PHP conference is back for 2025.
The sixth (!) edition of Longhorn PHP Conference will be held Thursday, October 23th through Saturday, October 25th at the Holiday Inn Austin Midtown, the same venue we've used in 2021-2023 (but with a few enhancements, including upgraded hotel WiFi).
As with the last five years, we'll be providing three tracks of content across three days. Thursday will be our optional Tutorial Day with morning and afternoon 3-hour sessions, while Friday and Saturday will contain shorter talks, keynotes, and a spot or two for the Open Spaces that were so popular in 2023. Friday and Saturday's content will be live-streamed to virtual ticketholders, and recordings will be available for both virtual and in-person attendees during and after the conference.
Blind Bird tickets are available until our CFP closes and talks have been announced, and as a Thank You to the PHP community we're keeping Blind Bird tickets at the same price point we've provided in previous years. So if you trust us to provide a solid event this year, now's the time to grab a ticket (and a room from our hotel block for $130 + tax per night).
Our Call for Presenters is Open!
Our CFP is open, and will run through mid-July. We're looking forward to potential speakers submitting talks and tutorials.
Our speaker package remains the same as previous years: if you're accepted and don't have travel handled by your employer, we'll cover 3-4 nights of hotel for folks not local to Austin, plus a plane ticket if you're out-of-state. Plus, all speakers get a free conference ticket. We believe that ensuring a speaker only has to pay their time to speak is important for hearing from the broadest community, and a number of us organizers were afforded the same benefits when presenting at PHP conferences in years past.
Whether this is your first time speaking at a conference or your fiftieth, and whether you're local or from out of town, we want to hear what you want to present. For folks new to the speaker circuit, drop us an email to brainstorm talk submissions; we want to ensure y'all succeed, because it's never been more important to bring up new voices in the PHP community.
Sponsorship opportunities are available
Without sponsors, events like Longhorn PHP wouldn't be possible. If you'd like to support our community, find top PHP developers for your team, or show off your company's tools to a well-honed audience, we'd love to have you as a sponsor for the sixth year of Longhorn PHP. Sponsorships start as low as $400 if you sign up soon, with a special $100 Community tier for the user groups and open-source projects that make PHP tick.
Thanks again for your support of Longhorn PHP over the years, whether you've attended (in-person or online), spoken, sponsored, volunteered, or just read and shared this newsletter. We're looking forward to seeing you at this year's edition, and will be sending out more emails in the coming weeks and months as we fill our our speaker and sponsor lineup closer to the event.
