Here it is. It’s time! For months, our editors have been enthusiastically debating the best listens of the year (so far), reading all your ratings and reviews, and listening A TON. We’re thrilled to now share our top 25 picks. Beyond this stellar list, we have an embarrassment of riches to choose from, including expertly curated collections for Pride, Caribbean Heritage Month, and top-five picks from an audio-obsessed author. I’ve never felt happier to be an audiophile.

The Best of the Year (So Far)

|
Our midyear roundup of the best listens of 2025 (so far) marks an annual labor of love that we, the Audible Editors, absolutely obsess about. While not every one of my personal fiction picks made our top 25, many did, and I must admit that everything we included is worth checking out, fiction or otherwise. A good story is a good story—here are our favorites for 2025 (so far).

Loud, proud, and literary

As an audiophile and book nerd, I like nothing more than getting recommendations from trusted readers and listeners. Lucky for me, I work with some of the most trustworthy audiophile/book-nerds out there! Some of the richest sources of new listens come from the timely curations we do around key celebrations, like Pride. This year, editor Michael Collina has outdone himself, gathering an amazing collection of essential audio. After you explore our LGBTQIA+ creators hub, be sure to check out The It Girl’s summer listening list: Queer edition. It’s an amazingly fun piece, written and curated by another trustworthy audiophile/book-nerd colleague, Madeline Anthony.
